Beauty is a lot more that just fixing your hair or swiping some makeup on your face. And yes who hasn’t seen someone who has apply their makeup with a heavy brush. Makeup it is truly an art form. It has so many techniques and products that require a keen eye, precision and a sharp attention to detail. Do you have what it takes? Regardless of your answer, I am hoping that these tips to help you.
The very first thing you got to do is drink water! You be surprised just how better your face looks when you do. Now if you are looking to enhance your complexion and overall beauty, consider eating foods that are high in antioxidants such as blueberries, cherries and pomegranates. This way, you will increase the properties of the antioxidants that are flowing through your system that will lead to better looking skin over time. There are powered drinks now that can be helpful as well.
Always start with a good set of makeup brushes. This way you can apply the same makeup you may of had done at your local department store.
Use a gel or crème blush instead of powder. I tend to disagree, you an wear powdered if you are using the right blush.
(If you can find gel or creme? Buy as many as you can!) because they just do not seem to be offered as much as they once were.
But not all dry blushes are bad for you if you used the right one
Now even thought gel or creme blushes maybe good, they are really hard to find. My personal favorite one is by NARS Orgasm Blush It has been around for a while but it happens to be just the right pink and gold shimmer. If you haven’t tried it yet? You have no idea what you are missing!
Always exfoliate your body prior to applying tanning lotion or spending time in a tanning bed will extend the life of your tan! The idea is that removing all the dead dry skin before tanning helps keep your tan longer. (tanning beds, spray one tans and laying in the sun are all bad for your skin overall. Use a self-tanner instead.)
Disposable mascara wands, which are often known by makeup artists as “spoolies”, are a cheap and effective tool for your makeup kit. These tiny brushes are useful to break up clumps in the lashes and brush off excess mascara without spoiling your makeup. In a pinch, they can also be used to groom your eyebrows.
Wearing heavy foundation or powdery makeup is not a good look for faces over 40. It accentuates the drier character of the skin. If your face is 40 or older it’s better to use a lighter touch. If your skin is fairly even toned you may be able to skip foundation entirely. Most good foundations should be very light in weight.
Now you see that beauty is a lot more than throwing on makeup in hopes it will work. It takes skill and an eye for pleasant aesthetics. You don’t want to look slovenly, so why not take some time to learn how to do it right? Makeup will always be a hit or miss till you figure out what looks good on you the best. But as you age, you should update your style of makeup to works with you age. If you are not careful, your makeup can aged you instead of making you look younger.
